Here you will learn the history and techniques of making this much-revered cloth and become familiar with the multitude of designs and their significance to the Ghanaian culture. The expert weavers will teach you how to make your own Kente cloth weave. You will also have workshop sessions on pottery, broom-making and basket weaving.
* Two-day excursion to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region where you will visit the Wood-Carving Village.
We will organize hands-on lessons of techniques surrounding the intricacies of wood carving designs famous in this region.
* A visit in the Eastern Region of Ghana to the Cedi Beadmaking Village in Odumase Krobo. Here, you will be able to watch and participate in the extraordinary art of glass and clay bead making. Each bead is singularly created, kilned and painted to everlasting beauty. You will immensely enjoy creating your own work of art.
* Three days in Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana. This area is rich in culture and history and is the site of the famous Slave Castles utilized as dungeons during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. This sobering history is sure to impact your life forever. Too, you will enjoy the beauty of the beach resorts on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and enjoy the best foods Ghana has to offer.
* An exciting tour of the lovely capital city, Accra. Explore and enjoy museums, music, sights, sounds and relaxation before your return to the Unites States.
